You become a family practitioner, you get invitations to come and practice in small rural towns, they make you a really sweet offer, and you are instantly an important member of a rural community. I like that.

I had cataract surgery last year, and it was unbelievable how it improved my quality of life, and I have heard that cataract surgery has the highest success rate of all other surgeries. I was thinking how gratifying it must be to improve people's lives like that, plus you could do medical mission trips as well and have great success with helping people in poor countries.

Diagnostician. I know it's not an officially recognized specialty, - so I guess I'd pick internist

I love trying to figure out medical mysteries. In a perfect world where insurance companies cannot tie the hands of physicians and restrict diagnostic procedures, this would be my favorite thing to do--kind of like Dr. House.

Q: Doctor,  I've heard that  cardiovascular exercise can prolong life.  Is this true?  A: Your heart only good for so many beats, and that it...don't waste on exercise.  Everything wear out eventually.  Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster.  Want to live longer?  Take nap.  Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?  A: You must grasp logistical efficie ...

From the AMA's amednews.com: (Where will your doctor be next year?) Will a “silent exodus” from medicine worsen doctor shortage? Many physicians, nervous about the impact of health system reform and dispirited by trends in medicine, are exploring career options that involve treating fewer patients. By KEVIN B. Reasons To ChooseOct 08, 2016
Looking over the posts on the political board, I am stunned by the vitriolic posts. For the top office in the land, we are hiring someone for 4 years. We are the interviewer and the employer. We don't have to like the person, don't have to eat holiday dinner with the person, don't even have to watch the person on TV. We have 2 contenders, one will hold the office. That person has to know how to do the job and how to get congress (which is way more crucial than the president) to ...

I Choose To Believe In President TrumpJan 26, 2017
I just heard the tail end of his speech to Republicans in Philadelphia. I have been and am still inspired by his words. I believe he has America's best interests at heart. Go ahead and flame me if you feel the need. This is a man who doesn't need the money. I am electing to have faith in his words. I look at the men and women standing alongside him and I know my decision is right. There will be bumps and bruises, there always are, but I know that America will be great again. ...

Just Wondering. Why Does Mainstream Press Choose To Sep 15, 2012
I mean, the man is half white, half black - so to regard him as being black is nothing BUT a choice, right?  Pick one from column A or one from column B - it's your CHOICE.  It is NOT factual to call Obama black, or to call him white for that matter.  But it does seem passing strange that no one in the press regards Obama as white.  Just by the laws of probability, you would expect that some would call him white and some would call him black.  I mean, if I showed 1 ...

Why This Disgusted Voter Will Choose Trump.Mar 31, 2016
Every one of the leading candidates is seriously flawed, but not in the same ways, or to the same degree.   There being no good, much less "ideal", candidate, here's my thinking and I won't be insulted if you disagree or reach a different conclusion. 1.  I don't automatically eliminate someone who has been part of the "Washington establishment" as long as they haven't FAILED in that role.  This would eliminate Clinton, Sanders and Cruz.  Every one of ...

The GOP Must Choose: Rush Limbaugh Or Minority Voters. SmNov 11, 2012
Rush Limbaugh is confused. He just can't understand why the Republican Party has so much trouble with blacks, Hispanics and women. Here's how he put it on his nationally syndicated radio show, channeling the way that a lot of conservatives are feeling after looking at the demographic breakdown of Election 2012: We have achieved, brilliant, highly accomplished African-Americans, blacks, Hispanics, you name it, throughout the Republican Party. They serve in office. Many of them ar ...

Law School Asks Students To Choose “God’s Law†Over Man’s LawMay 18, 2011
Just imagine if a Muslim school taught this in the United States. Instead, an accredited law school here in the United States is actively instructing its students to place religious law above the laws of the United States. Apparently, so long as it is Christianity, and not Islam, no one needs to fear. Late last month, after federal authorities arrested a Tennessee pastor on charges of aiding and abetting an international parental kidnapping, students at Liberty University Law Schoo ...
