rosie o'donnell and brooke shields

Am I crazy...wasn't fully paying attention, but did Rosie O say to Brooke, with respect to Brooke's mother Teri, "When your mother died..." etc., to which Brooke responded by immediately cutting Rosie off..."She died? What?! My mother died?" Meaning, obviously, that her mother was not in fact dead. Well, this caused Rosie to completely freak, naturally, profusely apologizing for her presumed "mistake" in erroneously thinking Teri Shields was dead. "I even read the book," Rosie stated, meaning Brooke's new memoir, the subject for which she is on the View this morning, and therefore should have known the 'life status' of Teri, one concludes Rosie meant. It was extremely uncomfortable, Rosie looked like an ass, she was absolutely mortified and the other hosts were as well...Well, worrying about Rosie perhaps getting fired for it (this is the kind of 'life' I have, folks), etc., I took it upon myself to look up Teri Shields, to find that she in fact did die about two years ago, November of 2012, I believe, is written in a variety of easily googleable (word? sp?) obits. I then went onto the View website, thinking I could glean something from it as to just what went down re the episode of this morning. It couldn't have been an 'old' episode, pre Teri's death, as Brooke is touting her new memoir, and I'm sure I saw Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace out of the corner of my eye. As I said, I was kind of half-watching and couldn't rewind, as was already back too far. So my conclusion remains WTH? Did anyone see this? I repeat... WTH? Actually, the View is 'on demand,' I believe, but can't get it until tomorrow...have to know right now if anyone else saw this...

I saw it also. It was done jokingly. Even though death is nothing to joke about, that's the way I saw it. I didn't see it as awkward at all. They knew that her mother had passed away years ago. Watch it again. When Rosie said, "When your mother died," and Brooke made that comment, you could see it was done in a joking manner.

Oh! That's what half-watching will get you... - thanks! Will take a look...

I wasn't really watching; I missed the context entirely, that it was a joke! Will take a look at the link...thanks! It's funny, I made up a whole scenario that Rosie was 'mortified,' etc.--that's how it looked to me having only paid partial attention...:) I did really see this type of thing, though, on Kathie Lee a couple of years ago who wished Martin Short, the guest, and his 'lovely wife, a wonderful 20-year anniversary' or some such, despite the fact, as he so informed, that his wife had died several years before...I unwittingly superimposed that recollection onto this, I suppose!

No problem, I saw that too - LinK

I can see how it might have looked that way. I half watch TV shows all the time because I'm supposed to be working. LOL. I saw that episode with Martin Short. That was so awful. She really had no idea.
I thought I saw a link to it...I guess not - because I haven't seen

I haven't seen it again, but thinking about it now, knowing what happened, I can see Brooke kidding around like, of course, the book is all about her mother/her and of course, she died--I'm sure there was a lot of talk prior that I didn't see about how she was only able to write the book after her mother died, etc., so it was clearly a joke; in addition, I can see Brooke with her quirky personality--one of her traits--she's a good comedic actress really...saying it, ironically about her mother to lighten the moment...but what I still can't grapple is Rosie's reaction...she was just doing "schtick" along with her (Brooke) following Brooke's teasing? Because Rosie looked genuinely horrified, and when they quickly cut to the commercial--it ended actually I think, I thought I saw Rosie still seeming to be pleading for forgiveness as the camera faded. What's more, Rosie never did finish her question...? I believe you though, LOL, but see how it looked in totality to someone not fully paying attention???! LOL

Another university is bringing Christine O'Donnell's self-professed education history into question Wednesday, as Claremont Graduate University, a school that the Delaware Senate candidate claims she attended, has told Talking Points Memo that they have no record of her being there.
