I think the family probably wanted to hide, my goodness with the show and some people thinking they walk on the water, what now? I have never watched the show. That family is just creepy back.

What I read was that the dad took the son to a state trooper - Ugh!

who was a "family friend" and the officer gave him a "stern talking to." The article I read also stated that this same state trooper was eventually convicted for possession of child pronography among other charges.

I personally never watched the show. There is something very off about this family. Maybe the feminist in me is turned off by the male-centric mentality. OR it could be the fact that that continually have children which I find to be completely irresponsible in this over-populated world that is rapidly running out natural resources necessary to sustain life on this planet.

I mean have two or three kids, but 19!!! Come on!

...having 19 children is irresponsible. I have a theory that their son Josh molested his sisters because it was a really stressful household with so many kids, so many rules about sexuality, and Jim Bob constantly making sexual innuendos to his wife. Just call me Mrs. Freud.

closet. It's been my experience the more pious a person is, the more depraved they actually are.

In my little circle alone, the preacher of my church for the last 15 years, just got fired because he'd been screwing the church secretary, was addicted to porn, and when his wife found out, he put a gun in his mouth and threatened to kill himself in front of his children! He gave marriage counseling and counsel to parents. Preached on the evils of pornography. Two weeks before he was fired, his sermon was on adultery!

The owner of a local funeral home/county coroner, just got arrested for using, manufacturing and selling meth. He handled my grandmother's funeral, and seemed like the most compassionate and thoughtful man.

I live in the sticks and used to think that it would never happen here! Oh it does! The Duggards may seem above reproach, but it only SEEMS that way.

It like the Catholic Church that got away with sexual abuse - for decades. NM

I saw the show when at ultrasound there was no heartbeat. The latest show that aired they said they were "still trying." To me that kind of thinking is horribly selfish. I often think of the women who would have given anything to have one child. This planet cannot survive many families like the Duggars.

that family seemed just a tad too perfect. That's not real life. I will be shocked and disappointed if TLC does not cancel the show. They air the re-runs constantly, mornings and some evenings. To be honest, I won't miss Michelle's voice. . .

I started watching their show because I wanted to try and figure out why they kept having children. I kept watching because I thought they were sweet and entertaining. I don't think I can watch anymore. I read the court document and was totally creeped out. Those poor girls! The parents say they got counseling to help them deal with it, but I think it was just their own brand of "church counseling."

These parents attempt to shelter their children from the outside world. In my opinion, that does more harm than good with teens. I don't think it's natural, and sometimes that comes back to bite you.
