What does everyone think about "Spice"

Posted: Jul 21, 2010

Just to prove that I am older than I want to admit, I had never even heard of it until my husband was telling me about someone in his batallion who had been caught with it and was in trouble.  I asked him what it was, but being as out of the loop as I am, he really was not sure, just knew that the Navy has outlawed it.  Just yesterday, I heard a little news story on talk radio about how Jackson County has outlawed the sale of this stuff, so looked it up and I guess it's some kind of new drug.  I never took drugs as a kid, so I guess it makes since that I didn't know about it, but is anyone familiar with this stuff.  I am just curious, I guess from a medical standpoint, whether or not it is safe and what everyone else thinks.

Just worry about my kids when they get older with stuff like this around and, since I am a research junkie, I like to know all about these sorts of things and had a hard time finding anything really, other than what it might contain, but nothing about the effects of the synthetic cannabis (other than getting one high). I guess I'll just have to wait for new information--was just hoping someone on here knew about it.

Spice is another word for Salvia which is sold for smokin'. - Hayseed

Head shops here in Maine sell it as a legal alternative to pot. Even though its still legal, although a hot topic for being potentially banned, you'll see signs all over the sales counter that say, "THIS PRODUCT IS AN INCENSE AND IS NOT FOR CONSUMPTION." Yeah, right. One ounce of the stuff is selling retail for $130, I kid you not.

I found a link for some here:

I think if you do a little more research you will find spice (aka K2) is a synthetic form of marijuana. Marijuana is from the cannibus family. Salvia is a psychotrophic hallucinogenic, totally different plant than Marijuana. Salvia falls more into the family of mushrooms a much more powerful hallucinogenic.

Dry Ham, Need Something To Spice It Up SomeApr 03, 2013
I had a spiral ham for Easter the other day. My husband who is diabetic cannot have the added sauce that comes with it. I used to, back in the day, use cloves and put brown sugar over the top fo the scored ham and it was soooooo good but now because of his not eating/liking, do not do. Does anyone have a suggestion as to another topping I might use that would not be sugar based and still be tasty. TIA ...

Parody Of The Old Spice 'Look At Your Man'Jul 17, 2010
This has nothing at all to do with MT, but I love that Old Spice commercial, and now Brigham Young University has made a parody of it to encourage library use.  Who'da thunk BYU had such a sense of humor! ...
