Dry ham, need something to spice it up some

I had a spiral ham for Easter the other day. My husband who is diabetic cannot have the added sauce that comes with it. I used to, back in the day, use cloves and put brown sugar over the top fo the scored ham and it was soooooo good but now because of his not eating/liking, do not do. Does anyone have a suggestion as to another topping I might use that would not be sugar based and still be tasty. TIA;
pineapple juice? - orange juice?

I have always done the brown sugar and honey drizzle.
Cant help you any further than that, I am a horrible cook.

[ In Reply To ..]makes a brown sugar version that he could eat. I used to use brown sugar and Coke on ham and would probably mix Splenda with diet Coke. There's also pineapple that doesn't come in heavy syrup and is lower in carbs.
Smear w/unsweetened apple sauce or a mango, or sauteed onions, add it to an omelet. NM - NYMT

[ In Reply To ..]You could always fry it until it is deliciously browned . . . thus eliminating the need to slather it with goo.
Nothing wrong with plain old ham, though. I don't understand why the need to glop it up with nasty sweet goo.
