Sketcher's Shape Ups

Posted: Feb 4, 2010

I kept watching the TV commercial on Sketcher's Shape-Ups, and really, really was tempted.  But they cost $100+.  Started doing research, and found they're patterened after the MBT shoes, that cost over $200.  I couldn't justify spending $100 for shoes that I might wind up hating, plus since I work at home, I only wear slippers.

More research, and I discovered that Sears and Kmart (who are apparently affiliated) have knock-offs - Thera Shoes - for around $30.  I got 2 pairs of them, one regular sneaker-type, and the other black clogs for winter.  OMG.  They're wonderful.  My knees and back feel great, and I feel like I'm standing up straighter.

Anybody interested in the rocker-bottem style, might want to try them out before investing a lot of money on Sketchers or MBTs.  Some people hate them.  Glad I'm not one of them!

great tip - thanks!

I bit the bullet and bought a pair of Sketchers Mary Jane style. They are pretty ugly but I tried on both the regular sneaker style and the Mary Janes and the Mary Janes were so much more comfortable, they feel like I am walking on a cloud. I had been dealing with plantar fascitis and a heel spur since last May. Everything I wore hurt and these were the first shoes I could acutally walk in without pain. I love them.

Obama Will Leave His Party In Its Worst Shape Since TheAug 21, 2015
As historians begin to assess Obama’s record as president, there’s at least one legacy he’ll leave that will indeed be historic—but not in the way he would have hoped. Even as Democrats look favorably ahead to the presidential landscape of 2016, the strength in the Electoral College belies huge losses across much of the country. In fact, no president in modern times has presided over so disastrous a stretch for his party, at almost every level of politics. Legacies are often tough to ...
