I have a tomato blight!!!!!
Posted: Aug 18, 2013
Any gardeners out there with advice about tomato blight??? It is moving fast and just ruining my plants. I just cut away about the third of my garden to try and stop it. I also used baking soda solution and sprayed the plants. This just stinks. I worked so hard on digging the beds this year, watering, weeding, etc., now it seems like for nothing. Just to add to my angst, I opened my camper yesterday and it was infested with termites and then my 13yo dog lost a tooth today, so I'm feeling rather defeated here.....;

You might be out of luck. Hubby is a professional horticulturist and he says there isn't much you can do this far into the season. If its any consolation we had it here too. :(

and throw them away, do not compost them. If you are pruning between plants, make sure you wipe the pruners with alcohol to sterilize them.
Honestly though, this may help some, it may help you get a few more tomatoes but there is really on so much that can help. Depending on what zone you are in, you could try planting something in their place for a fall harvest if you decide to pull them.

Thanks for the replies. I pruned out about a third of my tomatoes, so we will see. I just went out to my nephew's who has about a third of an acre garden to pick some produce and he has a blight as well. Much worse than mine. He has huge beautiful pumpkins that look awful. I think he is going to lose everything. picked about 40 pounds of good tomatoes today, so at least I will be able to put up some sauce and salsa.

visited a little farmer's market here close to the house, had bought from the same people before, got some home grown tomatoes and sat down to enjoy. I sliced them as usual, salted down and started to enjoy. I got horrible intense pain on the left hand side right under my ribs. That was with the first serving. Went back and got more, did not really think that was the cause, hoping not but eating the second had the same pain. I now have tomatoes in the kitchen I told my son he could have. I am really afraid now to eat them. Never been bothered before.

Tomato Juice And Feline Odor ProblemsMay 15, 2012I've been with my furry friend for nearly 17 years. I cannot smell a thing, but my neighbor says the place reeks. I recently read a detective novel by Ridley Pearson. In it, the character who is the police pathologist recommends mopping with tomato juice to get rid of the smell of catpee. I know this isn't where you look for this kind advice, but I wonder if it wasn't just filler commentary and might actually help. Three years ...
