Haitian "orphans"

Posted: Feb 2, 2010

So, the latest on the news is that that American church group who was going to start an orphanage with the Haitian children, are going to probably be charged with human trafficking.  Many of they children found in their custody aren't even orphans!  The children are now being reunited with their families in Haiti.

What a shame that there are so many opportunistic vultures preying on such a tragedy. Makes me wonder how many innocent children have been ripped from their families in this chaos.

I thought I heard some of the parents said they gave their children to this group to have a better life.

That's not what the latest news is saying. Its also just not right that this group didn't even have all the legal paper work on the children. sounds shady. Poor kids. I hear this happens a lot in third world countries, groups misrepresent themselves as humanitarian aid groups and then sell the kids into who knows what kind of life, prostitution, drugs, slavery...

Last news I heard was at 6 a.m. Example of how networks report news before all info is in. Who knows what to believe? I don't when it comes to things of this nature. I have heard network "personalities" (I can't bring myself to call them reporters) say things that either just come off the top of their heads or they are told to say them for sensational value. This will be a story I will follow. These children are such innocents during an unimaginable catasphrophe, no matter which way the story goes.

Many predatators hide behind the mask of "religion". - nmsg

The people of this story are from our hometown in Idaho and honestly it is an embarrassment to us on different levels but I do believe in my heart they were just trying to help but should have gone through proper channels. A lot of these children were orphaned by their own family before this and given to an orphanage but then came back after all of this came out and took them back. There is no way that these people from the church were trying to exploit the children or be involved in "trafficking" but they just looked like a bunch of uneducated ...... and it's embarrasing.

Haitian Money For Earthquake Relief Was Funneled Through Friends Of The ClintonsAug 01, 2016
Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation and Hillary’s 2016 presidential campaign. By all accounts, the money and what it was meant to do never really reached the Haitian people. While the Clinton Foundation only puts 10% of its donations towards charity, the IHRC was a real racket for Clinton pals, 1% went towards Haitian groups and agencies on the ground. All that is transparent is that the money didn’t go to Haiti, beyond that the trail goes cold. The money for earthquake relief ...

Pat Robertson links Haitian earthquake with "pact with the devil" WASHINGTON - Conservative televangelist Rev. Pat Robertson on Wednesday blamed the earthquake in Haiti on a "pact with the devil" purportedly entered into by the Haitian people in a bid to defeat French colonizers in the early 19th century."Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it," Robertson said on his Christian Broadcasting Network show. "They were under the heel of the French ... ...
