Is it possible to get a completely free version of ES anymore? I downloaded that trial version and right in the middle of work today it said it expired. I downloaded another free copy, but I don't want to keep doing that every 14 days. I had it for years, and it's on my old computer but the hard drive crashed, so I can't retrieve it.
I just clicked on a link about how to convert the trial version to free - it had nch.com in the hyperlink - and it turned out to be not one but 3 trojans. Luckily, MS security essentials got them. With things as hard as they are financially, why did this company decide to start stiffing us now?

[ In Reply To ..]I recall this happened to a friend of mine a few months ago. I was on the phone talking her through how to uninstall Express Scribe using add/remove programs. At some point, a message come up asking if she wanted to convert to the free version. I think she had accidentally install a trial of the pro version. I don't remember the exact wording of the message that came up. She selected that option and it has worked since. Try to uninstall the software and see if you get the option to convert to the free version that does not expire.
If that doesn't work, here is a link to an older version of Express Scribe 5.04 that might possibly not expire after 14 days.
