Dancing With the Stars

Posted: Sep 22, 2010

Did anyone watch this week? Season began on Monday and first elimination show was on Tuesday. I haven't ever gotten into this show so this will be the first season that I watch. I wasn't surprised by the elimination though and The Situation was so painfully awkward!

I love that show - Happy MT Robin

I didn't think I was going to watch this season because casting people like "The Situation" and Bristol Palin just turned me off, but I ended up watching anyway. That little kid Kyle something or other from the Disney Channel is my favorite so far. He just lit up the dance floor and is a real cutie. The Situation only had 5 days to rehearse compared to everyone elses 3 weeks because he was still filming that monstrosity show he's on. We'll see how big his fan base is and if they keep him on much longer.

The first couple or three weeks are always tough because there's some really bad dancing and some people that just don't ever really get the hang of it (Kate Gosselin from last season is a perfect example), but then it gets really fun as the people get better and better.

I have watched the past couple of seasons - cindy

They must have a very loose interpretation of the word 'star' with some of these people. Last year Kate Gosslin had to be the worse person I have ever seen on there. These sports guys really surprise you how well they can do sometimes. I love to watch the dancing. I would love to do a class in ballroom dancing but I have no rhythm and my husband refuses to try it with me. My oldest son is going to be 21 in May, so he might be willing to do a class, as he likes exercise activities and is really good on the video games, Dance, Dance Revolution, so who knows. I doubt I would be any good, but as long as I have fun and the added bonus of losing some weight from the exercise seems like a win/win to me, not to mention being able to do something fun and spend time with my son, as I am sure after college, he will be wanting to move on with his own life.

The Situation was awful and so was Hasselhoff. I thought he might last a few weeks because people might have wanted to see how well he could improve. I was impressed with Flor. Hendersonm 76, wow! I hope I look that good when I get that old!! Love Jennifer Gray. Fell in love with her and Patrick during the Dirty Dancing era. Rick Fox is soooooooo tall, if his partner wants to put her head on his shoulder, she will need to climb into a pair of stilts. It almost looks like he is dancing with his teenage daughter.

I love the show! I still dont get why they call that - guy The Situation, but I think -

he's kind of a jerk. I hope he's the next one eliminated. Not much of a dancer.

My pick to win at the end of the season is Jennifer Grey (prior dance experience) and Derek Hough, who I think is a genius when it comes to choreography. I think they will be the pair to beat, though most of the contestants this season show a lot of promise!

Any other DWTS fans like me out there?  If so, tomorrow on Good Morning America, the new cast of dancers and pros will be announced.  This season it's only on 1 night a week instead of 2.  I kind of think it's losing its fizzle.  Sort of like American Idol.  But I'll still be glued to the tube when it's on!  ...

Who Are Our Favorites In Dancing With The Stars?? Nov 13, 2012
I love Gilles and Melissa.  Apollo is wonderful too.  They are fabulous dancers.  Each one of the All-Stars this season has been great with the exception of a couple.  One has already gone home and I'm hoping the second one goes home this week.  Don't want to mention names.  You never know WHO reads this board... Reality Stars? Really?? SmMar 22, 2011
Was watching Celebrity Apprentice last night- now we are lumping 'reality stars' in with people who actually did something to become famous?  Seriously???  What is that about?  It seems like we have become a society where reality TV seems like it is not real, and stuff that is supposed to be real like politics, the news, etc. is all staged for show now.  I do realize they are scraping the bottom of the barrel this season- it's kind of resembling 'The Surr ...

Harry Reid Stars In Lord Of The RingsFeb 05, 2010
The transcripts for the Ed Show aren't up yet or I'd be able to credit this to the comedienne who came up with it. Apologies for that, but it was too funny not to share: If Harry Reid was the protagonist in Lord of the Rings, it would not be 3 books long. It would be a pamphlet: Strider: Here come the orcs. Reid: Oh. Give them the ring. -------- Pelosi has it all over Reid. Her courage puts Reid to shame. The good news is that Obama told the dems he'll give bipartisanshi ...
