Anyone with a microwave/convection oven

Posted: Aug 11, 2012

Our over the stove/under the cabinet microwave took a dump this week and we got a new one yesterday, but it is a microwave/convection oven.  (Got a really good deal $389.00)  When using the convection oven part, I assume you can not use a plastic container to cook in and I also assume you can not use a metal pan, so what do you cook in?  I assume that glass/corning ware is okay, but not sure other than that.  TIA.

I have a microwave/convection oven. I can use metal if I am cooking with convection only, and it came with a metal rack to use when cooking with convection. I can also cook using both microwave and convection at the same time, and then I believe I have to go by microwave rules as far as cookware. I always check my manual just to make sure, though, because I don't use the convection feature very often, as my regular oven can cook with convection too.

Convection Toaster OvensJun 26, 2010
I'm sitting here hot and hungry, 30 miles from the nearest eatery, and I can't bring myself to turn on the un-exhausted propane oven so that it can pour 350 more degrees into my un-air-conditioned house on a day that is still at 7:30 pm 85 degrees and humid.    So my mind has wandered to the possibility of a toaster oven for small roasts, baked chicken, pork chops, etc.  Has anyone had good luck using a toaster oven (I think now they're almost all convection ovens ...

Self-cleaning OvenNov 29, 2010
Well, made a huge Thanksgiving dinner (and I  have to admit the oven hadn't been cleaned in a few weeks before that) and cleaned the oven today.  Didn't realize how bad it was until the smoke started filling the kitchen and living room.  I am surprised smoke detectors didn't go off before I got windows open. I think I should still be using Easy-Off.  At least then I did it on a more regular basis.  The smoke has quit, but whole house still smells smokey. ...

Toaster Oven QuestionsJan 01, 2016
Does anyone own a toaster oven.  Our oven broke and is cheaper to buy a toaster oven than fix ours.  The only thing we really cook in the oven is small stuff (roast a chicken, cookies, brownies, melt cheese on our sandwiches and things like that).  No huge turkeys or whatever. So I'm looking at toaster ovens, at least a 6 slice toaster.  Does anyone have any recommendations or ones to stay away from.  We went to target and some were flimsy.  We are looking at ...

I Have A Thanksgiving Emergency! My Electic Oven, Which Is Ancient Will Not Heat Up Past 250 DegreeNov 21, 2011
And I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people.  I purchased a 21-pound Turkey and a ham and I am freaking out!  I have figured out that I can cook the ham in my big crock pot.  The turkey, however, I'm not sure about.  I am wondering about one of those electric turkey roasters, like an Oster or Hamilton Beach at Wal-Mart, but can one of those handle a 20 pound turkey?  I've never used one before, but I've heard the turkey comes out pretty moist with t ...
