States, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of WH Group of China....Then known as Shuanghui Group, WH Group of China purchased Smithfield Foods in 2013 for $4.72 billion. It was the largest Chinese acquisition of an American company to date. The acquisition of Smithfield's 146,000 acres of land made WH Group of China, headquartered in Luohe, Henan province, one of the largest overseas owners of American farmland.

It’s beyond horrifying that China has been allowed to run rampant thru the US and buy whatever they want. That so much of our food industry is owned by ChiCom, and that we pay our groceries with money that ends up in their pockets even if it wasn’t made in China.
