How to cure what ails this country
It doesn’t take much intelligence to see that things have gone terribly wrong for America. We’ve got a security and humanitarian crisis raging at our southern border.
In spite of massive vaccinations, Covid-19 and now some other variants of the disease are gaining ground across the nation.
On top of this, Joe Biden is allowing a second deadly wave of Covid to rush across the border carried by 10 to 12 percent of migrants who arrive at the border already infected with the pandemic. And the percentage of the infected might even be higher because we’re only spot-checking migrants as they cross into the United States.
Along with this, we’re finding that one of the three major vaccines authorized for use on humans, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, has caused blood clots to form in some of the vaccine’s recipients. This could result in many people refusing to get any vaccine shots at all. It’s also been reported that a third (booster) shot might be required to maintain the efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine beyond one year. All this is worrisome enough to make many of us feel that the dreaded pandemic may never leave us—at least not for years and maybe never.
And Covid isn’t all we have to worry about. In the last four months we’ve seen the re-emergence of rioting in many cities across the nation. Much of it has been in response to police shootings of black crime suspects. The George Floyd incident is alive again and with the evil assistance of Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA, it may soon inflame most of the country, forcing Americans to take sides in a conflict that will tear America apart...and for good. We cannot survive a second civil war.
And while enemies within our nation are set to destroy us, enemies from without--China, Russia, Iran and North Korea--are rising up and moving to test us and our resolve to defend ourselves and our allies. One major mistake, one single miscalculation on the part of any combatant nation will likely trigger a war that may easily end all civilization around the globe forever.
Some Americans are looking for the reasons why we’ve reached such a point of intense national polarity and decline and such an imminent brink of international calamity. They point fingers at so called “systemic racism,” unequal distribution of wealth, the clash of the classes, the destruction of the family unit, the disappearance of our national will and a strong moral compass, leftist indoctrination of our young people in colleges and universities where they’re taught to hate their country for the wrongs and shortcomings of our forefathers. They’re being blinded by the hideous idea that hate can change history and create a new wellbeing for our country. |

Penetrating a thick layer of ignorance and contempt. But all these ruminations about why America is in such deep trouble don’t get anywhere near to the crux of what really ails this country. They are but symptoms of an evil that is eating away at the soul of our nation. And, sadly the true answer to what ails us is scoffed at so loudly and frequently that most people are likely to laugh in riotous derision at what is the true cause of our miseries.
What I’m going to talk briefly about right now... whether you like it or not...whether you will believe it or not...is the root cause of all our misery and much or the world’s agony. This root cause is that we have abandoned God. And if you don’t believe in God, you better change your thinking to save your here and now, and your eternity. Here’s why unbelievers, lukewarm believers, and do-nothing believers are facing a disastrous undoing:
It’s reported that nearly 80 percent of Americans believe in God to some degree. Too often, that means they’ll go along with the idea of God so long as it doesn’t present some inconvenience...some encumbrance to how they want to spend their life. So, when it comes to doing what God commands or doing what one wants to do, God loses out. It’s me first; God last.
Too often, people look at God as a “party-pooper.” Following God’s commands takes the fun out of life. Why does obeying His laws have to be so restrictive? But, in truth, what Goes wants from us is rather simple. He wants our belief, our love, our love for our neighbors, and that we adhere to a few very rational commandments. Most of you have heard what they are: Thou shalt not kill...not commit adultery...not steal...not bear false witness against others...and so on. But, if you break them, and if you’re truly sorry and repentant, God will forgive you and your relationship with Him is good again.
What angers God the most. Right now, those who are closest to God will tell you that He is most upset and angry when we violate the most fundamental right that He’s given to mankind: The right to life. It is the right from which flows every other right we have: safety, sustenance, happiness liberty, etc. The right to life makes possible the “common good,” the good of all. Without it, the entire purpose of the U.S. Constitution is totally defeated. There can be no common good for all mankind if we set aside one group of humans as undeserving of the intrinsic, God-given right to life. And we are destroying this fundamental right to life every time we kill a child in the womb. They are the most innocent and weakest among us.
Our denial of the right to life as it is manifest in the act of abortion is the key issue that separates us from God today...an issue that has become so terribly inflamed between God and man due to the many millions of unborn babies we and the rest of the so-called “civilized” world have killed through the ages.
Abortion is the single greatest reason why God’s blessings are being withheld from America and the world today. Mark these words, and remember them always...write them down...caste them in concrete... nothing good will happen to America until abortion—one of the most serious, most mortal of all sins--is removed from the length and breadth of our land.
It’s up to all of us to make this happen. Bow your head and pray...go back to church...kneel and ask God’s forgiveness. May God guide us and have mercy on us. Please pray daily for a quick end to abortion in America and all across the world. Also, please send this message on to all of your family and friends. |
