It started with the 2009 "beer summit" incident with Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates. Obama opened his mouth and made very inappropriate comments (which he himself said he later regretted doing, but too late, damage done of course) when he should have stayed out of the whole thing and that is definitely when the whole race war was resurrected. Whether his actions/comments at the time were deliberate or accidental, we'll never know for sure. Personally, I think it was a Freudian slip, but I remember that being the event that ignited the fire that continues to burn today.....
