Problem is a lot of these people getting govt assistance are in that position because they are irresponsible with their life choices. I have a family member who is a single dad of 6 and at one point got $2000 dollars a month in food stamps. His kids would still say there was no food to eat at their house. He worked full time and made more income than I do. He made out like a bandit at tax time, but come every winter, he was bumming money off family members because he was so behind in his electric bill it had been disconnected.
