You’re making a lot of assumptions - Wow

They probably didn’t go out and buy a new car with their welfare check. Maybe they already had the car and jewelry and then lost their job, maybe they’re up to their eyeballs in debt. Maybe a family member let them borrow the car to do errands, maybe their old car was in for repairs and they had a loaner. Did you follow them out to the parking lot to see what they were driving? Do people really notice what others have in their shopping carts? You may think you know a person’s situation based on what you observed, but I doubt that you know the whole story.
