Penny story line makes you feel important and involved. Or maybe fear loves company. Neither makes it true. You cite the NY Times, known for misleading or blatantly false "reporting."

This isn't about "compassion" or anything else. It's about questioning what our eyes and ears tell us is false--including the boogey-man-under-the-bed stories like what you've posted.

I agree: If the Wuhan virus was what the Times, CNN and the eager Chicken Littles say it is we wouldn't need scare stories--we'd see it for ourselves. If you want to spend the rest of your life on house arrest and scared of your own shadow, be my guest. Just don't foist it on the grown-ups amongst us.
