I did early voting last week in my state. I had to show a valid ID, which was scanned, and then sign an iPad type device with a stylus. I then filled out my paper ballot which was then scanned into a vote counting device. I talked to the poll workers about people being able to vote twice to find out how that is prevented, and this is what they told me. If I presented myself again on election day, or any other day for that matter, my previous voting incident would be recorded electronically and my attempt to vote again would be flagged and I'd not be allowed a second vote. They'd send me packing. The same thing would happen if I mailed in my vote, because those votes are tallied as they come in and recorded, so no second vote would be allowed. Just check your state laws regarding voting procedures (they vary from state to state), an you'll find out how it works in your state.
