I feel a responsibility to my family. - Voter

Posted: Oct 17th, 2020 - 2:53 pm

I received this from a cousin and I agree with it 100%...

I have studied political theory from the fourth century BC (Plato and Aristotle) to the present day and the pros and cons of different forms government. I have also studied world history, the history of our nation, and the "isms" of the last century. As a lawyer I have studied our system of jurisprudence and our Constitution. As a person, I have seen how money and power can cause people to put themselves before the common good.

This will be my 15th Presidential election. I have never seen one more significant to the future of our country. As a retired person I have the time and opportunity to follow what is happening. I have never seen one in which violence and deceit have been so prominent.

I do not have many years left to worry about myself, but I am seriously fearful of the harm that could be visited on you and your quality of life.

When someone asks why I would vote for Trump, I reply, “I am not voting for Trump.

am voting for the First Amendment and freedom of speech.

am voting for freedom of religion.

am voting for the Second Amendment and my right to defend my life and my family.

am voting for the Fourth Amendment and my right to privacy.

am voting for the unborn babies that have a right to live.

am voting for school choice.

am voting for an unbiased educational system that teaches our children all sides of an issue and teaches them how to think for themselves. Failure to do that, is in my mind gross child abuse.

am voting for the continued growth of our economy, of jobs, and of the standard of living of minorities.

am voting for our jobs to remain in America and not be outsourced all over again to China, Mexico and other foreign countries.

am voting for the Police to be respected once again and to ensure law and order so that we can all be safe.

am voting for secure borders and legal immigration and to shut down the drug trade that destroys so many lives.

am voting to fight against human/child trafficking.

am voting for continued peace progress in the middle east.

am voting for a return of our troops from foreign countries and the end to America’s involvement in foreign conflicts.

am voting for the military and veteran men and women who fought for this Country to give the American people their freedoms.

am voting for Supreme Court Justice appointments that will protect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

am voting for the Electoral College to assure that the people of all of our states have a voice.

am voting for the Republic we live in and a nine justice Supreme Court to preserve our separation of powers and to leave policy decisions to the legislature.

am voting for the continued appointment of Federal Judges who respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

am voting for the right to speak my opinion and not be silenced, censored, or physically attacked.

am voting for the preservation of a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. One in which the government serves the people as contrasted with one where the people serve the government and where the government is deemed to be the all-knowing. I have spent years working with the government – they are no smarter or knowledgeable than we are.

I am not just voting for one person, I am voting for the future of our Country.

And most of all, I am voting for my family to ensure their freedoms and their future.

Finally, I pray that our press and politicians return to complete honesty or silence and adherence to the principle that the end it does not justify the means.
