I Wish I Lived in Virginia! - Glorianna

Looking at their DMV website, I see the top license plate/registration fee per year is $50. In my state, my sticker is $151 for the standard plate.

Taking the top Kelly Blue Book value of my car, my car property tax would be about $43. My state doesn't do this.

If I lived in Virginia, I'd still be about $50 ahead.

Then there's the gas tax. In Virginia, the state tax is about $0.20 a gallon. I don't know about county taxes. In my state, the state tax is $0.575 plus $0.04 county tax.

Yeah, Virginia is looking good! I could afford to visit the Civil War battlefields.

But seriously, if you're using the road, you need to pay for the road. Maybe they should just make every single road/street toll and put a chip in every car/truck/motorcycle to keep track of how often you're out and about and tax per mile.
