I love Goya black beans and pay extra for them. They are well worth it. Other than that, I'm not into spicey food much, so can't say I buy all their products. What is obvious in the reaction to his statement is the massive intolerance of the very people who claim to be righteous and against bigotry themselves - they are the most bigoted among us. If you don't see things their way, you are less than human in their eyes. Retaliation, in the form of the boycott, is their weapon - and they can't see their own hypocrisy.
