Anthony Johson was a black man in America who owned slaves black and white slaves. He raised livestock and by 1650 gained 250 acres of land along the Pungoteague Creek on the eastern shore of Virginia acquired through the headright system, which allowed planters to claim acreage. Anthony claimed five headrights, and according to records he owned several white slaves.
They NEVER mention this in their rantings about slavery.
