That was a missing piece of the puzzle - for me

Who called EMS?... Wow. I wonder which one of the 4 cops summoned them to the scene. It couldn't have been Chauvin, he was too busy keeping his knee on Floyd's neck. It might have been the cop standing in front of the bystanders, watching what was happening to Floyd. It could be he recognized exactly when Floyd became unresponsive and decided to make the call.

From the county autopsy, the lack of injury to the neck and internal structures was a big surprise. Also, no injury to the thorax. But still, the weight on his back by the other cop and Chauvin's knee on his neck must have caused some amount of restriction in Floyd's ability to breathe normally. Also, his airway and blood vessels must have collapsed to some degree from Chauvin's knee pressing against his neck.

He did have heart disease and the drugs he had in his system are factors, too. I think he was basically brain dead by the time EMS arrived. He still could have had heart activity for a short while and during CPR, but then couldn't be revived.

When you start looking at the details separately and not as the whole picture, like what the video shows, then you can see how hard it's really going to be for the prosecution, if it even goes to trial. Maybe they'll all make a plea bargain? I wonder if that would even be allowed in this case.
