You can't fact check an opinion, even one you highly value - like Trump's. sm

Trump's opinion is that all mail-in voting (as opposed to absentee ballot mail-in voting) would be subject to fraud. That's an opinion. How do you know?

1. We don't have all mail-in voting in this country. Therefore we have no stats. Trump is predicting the future. He's telling you what he thinks will happen. You can't fact check that.

2. The people who disagree with Trump are also sharing their opinions. Because we don't have widespread all mail-in voting they have no facts that these systems are secure. They have opinions that disagree with the President.

3. People often confuse opinions they agree with, with facts. It's not the same.

Now for my opinion. There's no need for nationwide all mail-in voting. We can wait in line to get into a Costco, a Home Depot, or a Walmart. We can wash our hands before and after touching anything. We could put disposable gloves on while in line and throw them out as we leave. Obviously, these measures protect us from getting the virus. We've all been doing it for the past 2 months.

Consider this. Trump just proved social media platforms have a thumb on the scale against him.

You'll note that Twitter didn't fact check other people, only Trump. The person in charge of Twitter's integrity team is an anti-Trumper. They tried to fact check Trump's opinion by pointing to the opinion articles of the Left.

I do agree with you a little. This is dangerous. People are much more likely to believe anything Trump says than anything the media says. It won't make Trump a dictator, but it does give him more power than he should have. The media, due to their antics over the last 3 years, gave up their power. Everything they say is more likely to be a lie than truth. They did it to themselves. They keep doing it.

It's hilarious. They're so blinded by hate, they can't see the traps Trump sets for them.
