However this Captain exhibited an extreme lapse in judgement. He should have known better not to stir the pot and dip his toes into out of bounds territory of the chain of command and the UCMJ. If he were a submarine captain he would never again command a boat. Possibly demoted to XO or WEPS or less.

The key is the leaked manic five page letter. Full blown stressed out melt down. Career ending stuff.
