Regions of Australia that experience a dry season have - had seasonal brush fires since

Posted: Jan 8th, 2020 - 3:39 am In Reply to: Never let the facts get in the way - of a good story

the period the Aborigines refer to as “the dream time”

Australia has a native bird — the “firehawk” — that DELIBERATELY spreads wildfire. Wildfires cause their preferred prey — small ground animals — to expose themselves by breaking cover and fleeing the fire across open ground. The firehawk deliberate spreads fire by picking up burning branches in its beak and dropping it elsewhere. It is the only known animal — other than man — that uses fire constructively.

This and environmentalists not allowing burning of old wood and arson is what is causing these fires.

But don't let these facts get in the way. Never let a crisis go to waste.
