Bernie's new campaign Surrogate

Wow! Looks like Bernie is turning his back on his own people! Has he totally lost his mind? Why Sarsour? Why not Tlaib or Omar if he wanted to represent the Palestinian people over Israel and the Jewish people? He has now proven himself to be a traitor. Do you really want a traitor to his own people as a president? Or is he that desperate? He's a sad, sad little man. I hope he gave up his Congressional seat before deciding to run. I would hate to see him return to Congress to try to destroy it some more.

Political activist Linda Sarsour has been named a surrogate for Bernie Sander’s 2020 US presidential campaign.

Sarsour, a Palestinian-American woman who is a supporter of the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel, spoke on behalf of Sanders over the weekend in Brooklyn, New York. In a video excerpt of the speech tweeted by the campaign, she is identified as a “Civil Rights Activist, 2020 Bernie Surrogate.”

Sarsour’s embrace of Sanders’s Jewishness is particularly ironic. She has worked with the notorious antisemite and racist Louis Farrakhan, speaking at a Nation of Islam event and defending his organization. Under her leadership, the Women’s March developed ties with Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, including the alleged use of members of the movement to provide security at Women’s March events.

Sanders — who has belatedly embraced his Jewish identity, after referring to himself as Polish in his 2016 race — has called the government of Israel “racist,” and said that he would remove the U.S. embassy in Israel from Jerusalem if elected. He also supported Omar after President Donald Trump criticized her and fellow “Squad” members earlier this year — and long after Omar had established a record of antisemitic rhetoric after her election to Congress.
