Universal Pictures is about to release a movie in which liberal elites hunt and gun down rural “deplorables” for sport. There were ads running on ESPN; ESPN pulled the ads. “One executive who passed on the script” didn’t want any part of this and said “that he didn’t even read it, adding:

“‘The idea seemed crazy. Employees in different departments were questioning the wisdom of making such a movie in these times. In light of the horrific…” This is a good point. There’s two levels here. On one level, remember this isn’t anything new. Back during the George W. Bush administration, we routinely had books written about the assassination of George W. Bush — and the media promoted them, and the media reviewed them, and the media said they were great works of art.
