I tend to believe it's more nuanced than that.

Justice Democrats did hold auditions and were looking for people like AOC that they could help get into office. Obviously, she won the audition. (Video on the site linked proves this. They aren't trying to hide it.)

I don't think they are puppets. I think they fit the demographic profile the Justice Democrats wanted. They also believe in the same things the Justice Democrats do. It's a merger situation, not a command and control scenario.
