Calling her a puppet implies that she can't act on her own and I don't believe that. But I do believe she's acting as a mouthpiece for the Justice Democrats and Chakrabarti. They're using her to get their messages out.
We also see her acting on her own. I suspect the "drinking toilet water" and "I felt threatened by border patrol" statements are instances of her acting on her own. Other instances probably include that time when her website briefly said the Green New Deal would outlaw cows and airplanes.
I did call her only a pretty face. By that I meant she fit the demographic profile the Justice Democrats knew the media would love to give attention to. (It worked.) The same goes for Omar and Tlaib.
What's fascinating is watching Trump use the Squad against the moderate democrats. What do the vast majority of voters think when socialists like AOC, Omar, and Tlaib become the faces of the Impeach Trump movement?
However, there is a real danger for moderate Democrats. Justice Democrats showed how a PAC can target moderates in vulnerable districts.
Regarding AOC:
"A total of 15,000 voters put her in the general election, and she convinced 110,000 voters out of 745,000 eligible to come out and vote for her."
Not a huge amount of support. She won the primary with 15,000 votes. There are probably other, more left-wing PACs waiting to try the same tactic on other old, white moderate Dems. That's not a good thing. It will be George McGovern but in House districts on a grand scale. You really don't want that many Republicans in office for Trump's 2nd term.
