I'm a Dem and strongly opposed to illegal immigration, and my other Dem friends and family are also. That is a false narrative that is being spread around to make Dems look bad. I'm not saying there aren't any Dems who feel that way, but believe me, they are in the minority. I'm very conservative on immigration and feel we should probably let in 50,000-100,000 very well qualified immigrants per year who are seriously vetted and have responsible sponsors here in the US. As far as the voting part, it's only immigrants who are here on work Visas, etc., who are allowed to vote in LOCAL elections, especially school board elections if they have children in the school system. That's another lie that has been spread to make Dems look bad. If they are on legal work Visas, of course they should be paying all payroll taxes; and if they are working here legally on work Visas, they'll need licenses to get to and from work. It is a bald-faced lie that Dems are for illegal immigration. Maybe the fact that we would like to see immigrants and families treated humanely at ports of entry is confusing people into thinking we are FOR illegal immigration. That is just NOT so.
