Washington sheriffs have been threatened with death for not enforcing Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich was threatened with death for stating they would not enforce recently-enacted I-1639. The NRA and the Second Amendment Foundation have sued to block the measure, claiming it violates the U.S. Constitution.
“(S)heriffs that are non compliant will be shot. (B)y me,” said the online threats, apparently posted on a Facebook page. “Ozzie Knezovich is gonna get a bullet in his skull.”
Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones has said that he won't enforce the new measure until its constitutionality has been determined by the courts. On Facebook someone posted in response, "(I) am going to kill every single one of them,” referring apparently to Republican elected officials.
