The real problem lies not in the people doing the begging, but in the gullability of today's society, e.g. the scams on GoFundMe and the like. If people are willing to throw their money at every tear-jerker story they read or hear about, it's their problem. Beggars have been around for centuries. The fake ones wouldn't have any success if society would wise up and stop being such idiots and falling for every sob story they come across.
