Khashoggi was not a report, just a columnist. That is a huge difference. Hewas NOT a US citizen, just a resident and he was granted that residency because WaPo gave him a "job" as a columnist though he was and always had been a political activist who supported teh Muslim Brotherhood. He followed B in Laden about Afghanistan for about 6 weeks and wrote an article which WaPo and other publications published. Bin Laden and he were friends since childhood, Khashoggis' grandfather was royal physician to the first moderan Saudi king. Khashoggi was irresponsible and stupid to go to Turkey, Saudi Arabia's #1 enemy, much less to the SA consulate in Turkey. He should have stayed here in the USA. It is his fault he ended up the way he did - no one else's. The US government owes him NOTHING> Every POTUS keeps ties with SA close - every single one of them including Obama, Clinton and both Bushes (whoa re personal friends of the Saudi royals and have been for 4 generations). Criticism of Trump over this affair is unfair in my opinion - and I did NOT vote for Trump. I am getting sick and tired of all the hate - he was elected legitimately and people need to stop all this BS.
