I looked up the definition of MMT, and it says that it's based - on a theory that all money is fiat money.

Fiat money has no intrinsic value, a valueless object.

Actually the money we use now is fiat money. It's all printed and there is nothing with which to back it up.

I'm also skeptical of cryptocurrency.

For a crystal clear understanding of the Fed, check out the works of Murray Rothbard. Someone recently introduced me to him.
