They didn't refuse the gay couple service, they refused to be a part of the wedding reception. They didn't deny baking a cake or selling to them. They refused to be a part of the celebration.

That seems appropriate.

Would you be a part of a celebration for the KKK or Nazis? I would guess not, because they stand for things that you personally don't agree with.

Would you change your mind if your state said you had to be there because not attending was discrimination?
