Using Dragon, scribes and cheap labor is not getting rid of transcription. Affordability does factor in, but the main reason is the EMR and meaningful use and the mandate that the EMR be in place by 2014, many places started using templates and Dragon at that point to receive reimbursements from the government. You cannot blame the Republicans, there are plenty of rich Democrats too, namely Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Bill Gates. What is it that you want us to do more of? Personally, I boycott Amazon for their employment practices and their elimination of jobs with their self service grocery stores. Wal-Mart is another corporation getting rich off the backs of workers. People are probably still going out to eat but will skip the appetizer or dessert and won't tip the server. People don't go to the movies anymore either, because they can watch the same thing at home. Please list the robber barons you are thinking of. If you mean MTSOs they are little fish in a very big pond.
