So who exactly is this helping? The workers are still making peanuts and the companies are benefiting.

Your next point: "American employers are required to contribute a percentage of what can collectively be called "employment taxes" and not only are these the highest in the world,there are many countries that don't even have any equivalent required contributions at all. Any and all "employment taxes" come out of the employee's check, period."

Again, how does passing off the buck to the employees benefit the employees?

It never fails to astonish me either how people think we should support all the corporations who pay us peanuts while they are reaping in the rewards of corporate welfare.
