Snobby boss - Beenz

Posted: Nov 4th, 2017 - 1:52 pm

I am at my wits end. I've been working for a dentist for nearly 2 years. He is such a 2 faced person I can't stand it anymore. He is rude, always 1-upping the staff, always correcting us such as a word used incorrectly, (2 of the staff are fluent in English and Spanish, so sometimes they make grammatical mistakes, but hey! they speak 2 languages!) And, he's an absolute slob, we cannot take patients into our consultation room or his office for private talks because his mess has oozed into both rooms. He dresses bad, is always wrinkled, and this year has decided not to shave or cut his hair.

It seems his only joy comes from attempting to discredit anything we gals talk about, say or think. He likes to especially nit pick at me because I have a BA, yet work "as just a secretary", (his words) so he always drops little rude hints like he doesn't believe I have a degree...

He talks crud about his wife, his kids, his life. Feels the need to tell us that he doesn't like our lipstick, hair styles...  The other gals sometimes put up with it, but I speak up. Once I went to speak to him and our patient about a treatment plan we were outlining for that patient, about the payment arrangements, length of time... and he stopped me mid sentence to point out that my scrub pant strings were untied! I told him, Stop being inappropriate and rude and focus! After our patient left he had the nerve to tell him that I was out of line.

When ever anyone is having a conversation, he has to make it about him. When he does something wrong, he turns it around to fault the staff, or even the patients! He has many times forgot to write treatment notes, and will try to change it later to suit his need (illegal!).

AND! He's creepy! I was speaking to one of the gals about a place I love to go to eat, regularly, every Thursday. Last Thursday, he was there and even tried to sit with me. I told him I was waiting for my hubby and he scoffed "hubby? is that what you really call him? your hubby?" Laughed and left the place without even ordering! Creep or what!  He did something similar to another girl too. He's... ugh, I dont' know how to describe him. Rude, arrogant without the goods to back it up, always fishing for compliments... creep.

So, I've put in my notice last week, and things have worsened for me! He won't even speak to me, like a spoiled child, so I don't think I could even go back in and finish the last week. I feel bad for my co-workers, because in this time he could have been trying to bring in a new person and train, but has focused his time of making me miserable!

I know I'm doing what is in my best interest, but feel horrible for my co-workers for staying with that miserable excuse for a boss...
