Even military personnel are not required to honor - flag or National Anthem. sm

First, you do not know what all liberals think. We are not anti-American. This country was actually built on objections and protests. Without them, none of us would even be here. The United States of America would not exist. Now, I would not do what Kap has done but it is anti-American not to allow him his first amendment right, even though you find it offensive. If your opinion is that it is disrespectful, that is all it is, your opinion. Technically speaking, that is actually what the military fights for. Their oath says nothing about a flag or a song. It says THEY WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. Many people do find it offensive, but it is actually anti-American and unconstitutional to not allow Kap this freedom of speech as is set forth in the first amendment of the constitution. It is hypocritical to demand otherwise. He personally knew the risk of losing his job and standing in the NFL community when he did this...still, that is his right to do so. If the NFL loses revenue by ticket sales or sponsors because they supported the right for players to kneel, so be it. Their decision. You can call people anti-American all you want but what you are in fact saying is I do not want this person to be allowed their constitutional right in this circumstance, which the military defends, because I don't like it and anyone who does not agree is anti-American. Suppose someone denies you a constitutional right because they find it offensive. You do not get to dictate the circumstances. The constitution is the constitution and applies to all of us.

The Oath of Enlistment (for enlisted):

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Bottom line, other people's constitutional rights are just as important as yours. If you do not like it, do not support the NFL, but using terms like anti-American is just as offensive to people in the military who fight for this right, people who vote, people who pay taxes...people who are just as American as you.
