Did someone here suggest that it should be illegal for NFL players to protest? If so, I must have missed that post.

Yes, the NFL players were engaging in their first amendment right to free speech. That's not the problem. The problem is they did it while on the job.

Take any gun you approve of someone owning. They're exercising their 2nd amendment right to bear arms. But they're typically not allowed to bring that gun to their place of employment.

In both cases, the actions themselves are not criminal. But they may be incompatible with continuing to work at that place of employment.

See the difference?
