Has anyone ever had a concussion? - Fallen, but I did get up... Posted: Sep 14th, 2017 - 12:53 pm
Friday evening I slipped and fell backwards landing smack onto the back of my head. No broken bones (fortunately), but huge lump on the back of my head and extreme headache and dizziness. Iced it down and the next morning hubby insisted on taking me to the ER. They did a CT scan and it showed occipital hemorrhage. The doctor said I had a concussion and to spend the next week in a dimly lit room or no lights at all and to avoid staring at a computer, phone, tablet, etc. and no loud music.
The only complication I am still having is loss of balance and the big lump is still on the back of my head. Whenever I move my head from side to side or get up from sitting to standing I feel my balance sways. It is very frustrating to say the least.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has ever experienced this and if so how long did it take to get back to normal. I had a doctor's excuse to be off work for a week, but have to go back Monday. Not sure I can even drive since movement makes my head spin. TIA!
