Texas Flooding - Ms. Kismet Posted: Aug 30th, 2017 - 1:41 pm In Reply to: Why aren't we talking about Hurricane Harvey and all that flooding from it? - anonie
Thank you so much for remembering us! I haven't checked the boards in over a week and I must say I was very surprised that nobody was talking about the flooding. It is a very huge, very real thing. I live just southwest of Houston and the last week has been horrendous here. My home is all right, but there is massive flooding all around me. My niece in Webster lost her home.. she had to wade/swim to get out. My brother and brother-in-law who live about 5 miles from me both lost their homes to the flood. My sister who lives about 20 miles from me is in her home with her family with water right up to their door, still fighting to keep it out of the house... the list goes on and on. Good thoughts and prayers are definitely appreciated!
I understand that people did not comment because they are worried about losing their own homes/jobs, but please realize that you can worry about yourself and at the same time show a little concern and empathy for those who are undergoing even worse circumstances. Many people here have lost it all.. homes, jobs, pets, every possession they had... barely getting out with just the clothes on their backs. I believe they are worth 2 minutes of your thoughts and prayers.
