For those posting information from other sources about Trump, Clinton, or others running for office, be aware that

Regardless of the source, if you put it in print and it turns out to be completely false or fictitious, you are still responsible for libel and can be charged for libel even if you only post a link.

Some of the stuff I've seen here as well as the information from links does measure up to veriable facts.

I'd check your facts before fuming and posting about something you did not check out thoroughly.

Just because it is on the internet does not mean it has any veracity.

Libel lawsuits are generally just cease and desist orders. If you violate the order, then there are fines and possibly jail time.

You bring up a good point, unlikely as it is.

To protect yourself against libel just make sure that what YOU SAY is the truth.

Examples:
* I read this article which talks about...Here's the Link
* I heard that the governor had sex with a minor... (Perfectly legal, IF you have or tape other evidence that proves you heard it.)

If you say something untrue, and you don't have a link then yes, it's possible. But highly unlikely. The candidates will sue newspapers long before they'd sue us. In order for them to collect damages they have to prove that our post(s) caused them some form of damage. I don't see how they could prove that based on the posts here. A few hundred reads equals no impact at all.

Anyone else watch Walking Dead on AMC? I have to say, that season finale last night had me holding my breath for the first 25 minutes. Downright horrifying and much better than what TV "horror" fare usually offers, that's for sure! At least at the end they confirmed there is indeed a season 3 in the works and didn't leave us hanging like they did at the end of season 1. I used to watch Tami on the MTV series Real World, and she has not changed, but gotten even worse. She is incredibly mean and scary and I was worried for Kesha when they were having that "talk."
