The Hildabeast's Paddy Wagon Beckons

Posted: Apr 9, 2015

(Reuters) - Democrat Hillary Clinton has slipped against leading 2016 Republican candidates in Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, according to a poll released on Thursday that cited damage from the furor over the former secretary of state's emails.

The Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll also showed Clinton in a close race with U.S. Senator Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican who declared his candidacy on Tuesday.

Clinton, who is expected to announce her White House bid this month, is tied with all the Republican candidates in Colorado and almost all of them in the early voting state of Iowa, the poll said.

"It isn't just one or two Republicans who are stepping up; it's virtually the entire GOP field that is running better against her" since the last swing state survey on Feb. 18, pollster Peter Brown said in a statement.

He attributed the drop to the controversy that erupted in March over Clinton's use of personal email for work when she was America's top diplomat. Republicans have raised the prospect of congressional hearings on the issue.

Paul led Clinton by 44 percent to 41 percent in Colorado and 43 percent to 42 percent in Iowa, the Quinnipiac poll showed. In Virginia, Clinton led 47 percent to 43 percent.

"These numbers are a boost for U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky as he formally launches his campaign," Brown said.

The poll cited a bright spot for Clinton in Virginia, where she led all Republicans, including former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, whom she led with 47 percent to 40 percent, compared to a 42-42 percent tie in February.

The telephone poll of 2,803 likely voters was conducted from March 29 through April 7 and had an error margin of 3.2 percentage points in Iowa and Virginia and 3.3 points in Colorado.

Poll: Swing State Voters Don’t Trust Hillary - Sane demos are waking up

[ In Reply To ..]

The drama over Hillary Clinton’s private email server as secretary of state seems to have damaged her reputation with voters in swing states, a new poll shows, providing a boost for Republican Sen. Rand Paul as he launches his presidential campaign.

In Colorado, 56 percent of registered voters said Clinton’s not honest and trustworthy, along with 49 percent in Iowa and 52 percent in Virginia, in a new Quinnipiac University Poll. Her favorability rating has dropped five points to 41, in Iowa it dropped four points to 45, and in Colorado it remained unchanged at 48 percent.

Thanks! I love supposedly unbiased/independent polls that curiously trash 1 particular candidate! - from someplace called quinnawhatthepac university

P.S. (edited): Just to clarify what I meant in my title (though I've already done so below to the people direct-replying to me), here is what I meant.

I don't believe that anyone - right, left or middle - should be conducting what outwardly appear to be basic public opinion polls, but in actuality, are biased questions for a study geared towards finding out specifics of why people are voting against someone, but still pronouncing it independent study, sorry.

You're welcome. Yes, it is one of the most reputable. - Post about Hillary though.

Not about the pollster. :-)
Pay no attention to curious pollster antics behind the Hillary-Bash Curtain? No thx - I always look behind the curtain

This entire direct reply to me says:

"You're welcome. Yes, it is one of the most reputable Post about Hillary though. Not about the pollster. :-)"

And my reply...

Thank you for your instruction on which aspect of the comment and post you think I should focus and post on; however, I'm fresh out of rotten eggs to throw at Hillary or anyone today, but I'm sure someone else will oblige. I've also nearly run out of patience for being told what I should focus on by the media.

IMO, regardless of who the source is or their reputation (in this case, let's not forget it's a privately-funded university), if they claim to be conducting an independent poll but curiously cite negative commentary about just one candidate while giving the study results, it leaves them suspect as to bias, IMO, regardless of their reasons.

I don't really pay attention to polls from anyone at all, from either political slant, until all the presidential bids are in and closer to elections. Their only function, at this point, is to try influence the outcome in advance by affecting voter confidence, even if a (privately-funded) university poll. Most media sites are worse as they only draw one political preference as readers anyway.
Oh, do you mean there is a university that is not - indoctrinating with liberal bias?
[ In Reply To ..]
Well, my o my. :-)
Yes, it's called "Liberty" University. Where students are mandated to attend - Ted Cruz speeches or pay fines
[ In Reply To ..]
The term used, in this direct reply to me, is "indoctrination". If I'm not mistaken, this term is typically reserved for such theological religious institutions as Liberty University, whose teaching is geared towards a religious perspective, isn't it?

As opposed to public or even partially-publicly funded ones, where no one is mandated to attend anything as grown-ups, and that typically provide a broader, more well-rounded education with diverse perspectives to debate and choose from.

However, back to my point, in all 3 comments now (2 to direct replies to me), is that no one - right, left or middle - should be conducting what outwardly appears to be basic public opinion poll, but in actuality, are biased questions for a study geared towards finding out why people are voting against someone, but still pronouncing it independent study, sorry.

Yeah, the liberal sites do do that - don't they.

[ In Reply To ..]
Funny how that works. Liberals claim they are independent then don't hold their own side to the same standards.
No one expects tolerance from a DemAlinsky - They want posters to take their opinion as fact
[ In Reply To ..]
When they are given facts/link/website, they scream they are not credible. Sad for the DemALinsky's the "vile" divide, destroy and conquer tactics they so love to use carry no weight, especially on this board. We are all used to the liberal faux persecution and self-righteousness that only they have any opinion.

Yes - It does seem that is the DemAlinksy preference - in what they post

Even the Dems refer to their polling results as accurate, so there's no reason to ridicule the pollster.

Hillary Clinton's image is worse than at any point since 2008. That's the big takeaway from a new CNN/Opinion Research poll released late Monday. And it's true; 44 percent now have an unfavorable opinion of her -- the highest that has been since June 2008, shortly after Clinton conceded the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama. The new poll also has the distinction of having come just as Clinton's use of a private e-mail account during her time as secret ...
