Planes are being searched in PA, NJ, and NY

Posted: Oct 29, 2010

All are UPS planes from overseas. One was ready to take off from Phila. airport and that plane has been stopped too.

Officials are stating there is a possibility of a terrorist attack or threat to the U.S. One plane came from France. I don't know where the other ones came from.

They are going to do a thorough search of the planes. The Phila. plane has been grounded since 9 a.m. Now, the search has expanded to include NY and NJ.

I only know what was on the news station so far.

Update. They have not found anything on the grounded planes so far - Backwards Typist

but they did find an explosive device on a plane in England that was to be leaving for the U.S.

I think, but not sure, they are worried about the security of the Great Lakes right now too.

Newer Update: They have found suspicious packages, according to MSNBC, on these planes. How true? Don't know.

The device found in England was traced back to YEMEN.

Fox has confirmed with Homeland Security that - Backwards Typist

They have concern over multiple packages originating in Yemen and included in the search is a plane in Chicago.

England's East Midland Airport was suspicious over a package, took it off and checked it out. It looked like toner package until they opened it and found white powder material, and so, this is what set off the security measures.

They are also saying they think this may be a dry run to see if they can get these packages through without suspicion....a test in other words...but not taking any chances.

This is definitely a scary thing. - sm

Yay to those who were on top of this and saw the potential danger. Hopefully there aren't others that got through undetected.

I know we shouldn't group all Muslims together but it sure would make me feel better if the Muslims who are peaceful would come out and oppose what the extremists are doing. A small few have, but the majority of Muslims have said nothing. I know we shouldn't be afraid of Muslims, but there is a Muslim extremist problem and by just looking...you can't tell which one is peaceful and which one is a terrorists.
Why didn't we - sm

intercept the printer(s), switch out the cell phone chip then 'refuse' the shipment and return to sender? Demonstrating good customer service, we should then have given them a phone call to make sure they received the package!

I guess that wasn't the right term. ff is false flag. Reading more about the stories now. Guess the timing of this happening right before the election is kind of strange, but goes to show anything can happen.

I'll bet you feel stupid now. Shame on YOU for...sm - oldtimer

This goes to show me what happens when you comment on a story before you have time to read the full story. All I saw what the headlines and thought how odd of timing is that.

So, your point is well taken and I've learned my lesson.
