I don't think all Mormon men get their own planets, only some of them, but I may be wrong. They are apparently able to call their wives up to be with them if they want, but that's up to the man to decide.

I think discussing a candidate's religion is valid on the politics board, as long as the conversation stays on point of how one thinks it may impact the presidency.

JFK didn't do anything that impacted the presidency except go to a Catholic church and it should be the same with Romney. I don't care what religion anyone who becomes president is as long as they follow the Constitution.

But I do believe it could, especially with issues such as abortion--regardless of the Constitution. I can remember separation of church and state, but I'm sure some would prefer to forget that part.

I was baptized Mormon at 12 and stayed in the church off and on until about 23. This was in 1970s to 1980s. Yes, this scripture is in the Book of Mormon. In fact, black men could not hold the priesthood and have full blessings of baptism until this changed in 1978. We were taught in Sunday school classes before 1978 that it was the mark of Cain and would change when the descendants of Cain were forgiven. Many church members were stunned but happy about the change in 1978 because the news was so unexpected.

This part of church history is downplayed I think.
