H-1B Visas - Hijacking

Posted: Mar 18, 2017

Pretty sad though most of us knew this anyway.  We do, afterall, have a president who uses the H-1B visa to bring cheap labor to his hotel.  I still want to know when he's bringing his factories back to the US and hire US workers; or does he just want everybody else to do that?

;

Wait a minute. We have illegals coming here taking our jobs, - not just H1B's. Take the H1B visa

problem up with Silicon Valley, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, Reddit, Paypal, Netflix, Lyft, Disney, Microsoft, and TaskRabbit, to name a few. I also will attest that H1B visas have been over-used. With half the country out of work, our immigration levels should be near zero.

The left wrecked the education system, and now they complain they need foreign workers because they can’t get well educated, qualified American applicants for their hi tech jobs. Go figure.

This has nothing to do with the left - "wrecking" the education system

This has to do with greedy businesses using foreigners instead of US workers because they can get them to work for "CHEAP" wages.

Trump uses the excuse that there are not enough American workers who are qualified to work in his hotel. Give me a break.

We would also not be talking about all these immigrants taking our jobs if it wasn't for the fact companies shop around for "CHEAP" labor.

By the way, I don't know where you get "half the - country is out of work."

Oh wait, I think Trump tweeted that.

I see. This is not an adult conversation about H1B visas. This is - just anti-Trump rhetoric.

90 million ADULTS are out of the workforce and/or getting unemployment, food stamps, welfare, etc. Accounting for the young and old, that's about half.

Oh, by the way, I don't tweet so I have no idea what Trump said.
This is not just anti-Trump - rhetoric

This is a fact. Can you answer why he would use H1B visa workers other than he gets them cheaper? I only bring Trump in it because he is the one preaching about bringing jobs to America yet uses H1B visa workers and offshores his factories. He is our president, so yes I bring him into the conversation.
You won't see too much adult conversation here or original - thinking. Most of it is group think and

echoing the MSM.

So what's your "adult" answer to why - Trump uses H1B visas
[ In Reply To ..]
instead of Americans? Again, it's not rhetoric, it's facts. Calling it rhetoric does not answer the question.
I read the article that the OP posted. It says nothing about - Trump. First of all, the conversation should be

about the article, not the political bias of the poster.

second, H12 visas are generally for high tech jobs.

If you want to judge people on what they did before public office, look no further than Bill Ayers, one of Obama's education and "social justice" warriors.

I didn't ask about Obama, Hillary, Ayers or anybody - else. My question
[ In Reply To ..]
was why is Trump preaching about using American workers when he is bringing in foreigners to work in his Florida hotel? He is a do as I say, not as I do kind of guy. Please don't try to tell me that there are not enough qualified workers in the US to fill hotel positions. I didn't say the original post talked about Trump in particular but it was talking about the fact that employers are bringing in foreigners to work for cheaper and that is what he does.
Now for Trump. He slowed down the process already at least. - This gives him time to handle the issue

more fully as part of the overall immigration overall, to a merit based rather than politically driven quota system.

The Trump administration on Friday temporarily suspended the expedited premium processing of H1B visas as part of its squeeze on what it said is an overloaded guest worker program.

So he is not raising the cap, which is good, and also the “pay to play right away” process is nixed. Slow progress but progress.

A brilliant 4.0 student from some other country getting a visa to come to MIT is one thing. But we’re talking scores of C-and-below kids trekking across the ocean to enroll in places like THIS.

Yes this school really exists and no this is not an SNL skit.

Text books in schools are teaching about the "evils" of capitalism - and have been since the socialists gained

power starting in the 60s and 70s. It's gone downhill since then. They began to infiltrate schools, churches and government. They have done an amazing job promoting socialism.

People have always been selfish, wanting stuff for free or from others. Obama, on a Biblical scale, tried to make this dominate in American culture and politics. Letting people turn into sloths will only enhance socialism.

I saw the culture turning in the 70s when my uncle, a Vietnam vet who spend 2 years there, used to talk about John Kerry (who spend 4 months there) and Jane Fonda and how our education system was turning left.

H1B is nothing but backdoor immigration. I've never known any - H1Bs who went home after the

contract ended. They have all been a springboard for staying in this country.

I maintain that it is an outright lie that H1Bs are getting lower pay. My husband is in IT and he just doesn’t see it. They are living on the same wages Americans get, buying property, vacationing, etc.

The bottom line is, there are not enough American kids in college in STEM programs. My hub has been doing IT for 20 years, and there simply aren't enough American's getting the right degrees.

STEM students are serious students. They don't party, - they work and study.

Of course, after seeing so many sniveling crybaby snowflakes on the college campus today, who came blame some of these companies?

So I guess you're saying only "snowflakes" - party?

[ In Reply To ..]
Seriously, blaming the left for everything is getting old. There are good and bad students who are affiliated with both parties.

I have read several articles that state - different.

[ In Reply To ..]
Most of the articles say the IT people earn on average 13,000 to 15,000 less than American workers. I know there is a variety of news that say a variety of different things.

It depends on where they work and what their job - is.

Ron Paul's Supporters Planning On Hijacking GOP Convention.Mar 03, 2012
It is not about the popular vote, it is delegates.  Santorum won my precinct, but Ron Paul got all the delegates.  The GOP cannot do anything about it because they are all stealth.  It is all completely legal and something put in place to get around vote fraud/manipulation, mob rule, advantage by the wealthy, etc.  They are gaming the GOP with their owned gamed system.  :)   http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/03/01/ron-paul-s-delegate-strategy.html ...

These 73 Sitting Democrats Voted To Ban Visas From Muslim CountriesFeb 02, 2017
Trump’s executive order is so modest that the foundation of it is essentially existing law. That law was passed unanimously by both bodies of Congress in 2002. In fact, it garnered the support of 16 Democrat senators and 57 Democrat House members who are still serving in their respective bodies! Following 9/11, Congress passed the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act, which addressed many of the insecurities in our visa tracking system. The bill passed the House and Senate un ...
