Fareed Zakaria GPS??

Posted: May 27, 2012

Does anyone else watch him on CNN on Sundays?  I love his show, very thoughtful, relevent both globally and nationally, and minus much of the usual political retoric.  He also has a special tonight on healthcare.

essentally for the similar reasons you mentioned. He has a wealth of knowledge and a keen analytical mind. He is thorough and balanced when presenting spin-free facts. I have followed his reporting while he was at Newsweek, then at Time, and the work he does at CNN. He strikes me as a genuine political independent and I especially appreciate the absense of bias when he hosts GPS. Thanks for the heads up about the healthcare special tonight. It should be really interesting to see him place his analysis of the state of US healthcare within a global context.

It is really beyond my comprehension how in the world your post got that knee-jerk "dislike." Do you suppose it's his Islamic name? The fact that his show appears on CNN (a non-Focks entity)? His (gasp) global perspectves? The mere mention of healthcare? I really don't understand what's not to like about Fareed Zakaria.

Do you know what time that's on? - Zville MT

I've never watched his show before, but I'm open to giving it a shot.

At 8 o'clock eastern time I think. This special...sm - sm

is on one subject. His usual Sunday show covers several subjects both global and national and has real think tank gueasts rather than politicians.

Okay, I like him. - Zville MT

I didn't agree with everything he presented, but he presents the information and his opinion without insults or a partisan agenda. Looking forward to watching his show again.

"Growing up in India in the 1960s and 1970s, I always thought of America as the future. It was the place where the newest technology, the best gadgets and the latest fads seemed to originate. Seemingly exotic political causes — women’s liberation, gay rights, the fight against ageism — always seemed to get their start on the streets or in the legislatures and courts of the United States. Indians couldn’t imagine embracing all American trends — in fact, some were rej ...
