Are there that many people out there that think we can deport people, throw them out of the country, because of some nationalistic righteous rage?

It seems to me that those who call for the deportation of pundits, and armed guards in schools, are the same ones who claim they fear a fascist state. What's up with that? And what do they do with all that cognitive dissonance?

Anyway. The best the NRA could do in the wake of this horrifying crime was to step up to the plate and remind Americans: "if you think you are going to get gun control, forget it." It's just a little hard for me engage any rage about Mr. Morgan in the face of the unconscionable hubris displayed by the NRA.

when I petitioned to have the Romneys sent back. And when I tried to get INS to deport W back to Texas, they gave me some BS about Texas being part of the U.S. If that's true, why do they have a different history than us (at least according to their text books), a separate power grid and only one star on their flag? It just gets harder and harder to deport people for disagreeing with you.

Still, it might be worth the trouble to deport the petition makers for their anti-first amendment stance;)

Have Romney sent back where? He's an American citizen. I can understand trying to petition to have Obama sent back. Just don't understand where you think Romney should be sent back to. Michigan?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Texas is part of the united states. If I was INS and some stupid request came through to "deport" someone who is a US citizen back to the state they are from, I'd probably deport the person asking just cos it so stupid.

Texas is a great state and hope more states follow just like them.

I also had a family member who told me (and she was serious) that if I didn't say nice things about the democrats she was going to report me. I asked report me to whom and she said to the DNC (at that time she said Howard Dean).

was ALSO pulling your leg and it passed you by. When people show that they will swallow just about anything about the Democrats and liberals as long as it's outrageously awful, they set themselves up as easy targets for a little fun.

Believe me, it's lot a better for those people to be laughed at for accusing others of, for instance, setting up concentration camps and arresting people who criticize them, than to receive the responses those despicable insults deserve. Choosing to downplay abuses allows family to stay together and avoid estrangement.

In case you weren't though, I was merely satirizing the lunacy of trying to deport people based on a disagreement by comparing it to equally crazy deportations.

The Romney family is from Mexico (where they were exiled a long time ago because the Phantom Zone was full), though Romney is a U.S. citizen and thus it would be impossible to deport him, hence the joke.

It turns out, however, that you were right about Texas. I looked it up and it turns out that they were recently admitted to the Union. Go figure. This will come as good news to my close friend in Texas as now the two of us can get together to hunt jackalope without needing a passport.

You were mistaken when you said Texas was a great state and you hoped other states would follow them. Texas is part of North America and so, because of continental drift, all the other states will inevitably follow them and vice versa, but they don't have a choice.

I also agree that Obama should be deported back to Hawaii. Unless it's already a state. Well, according to Wiki it is a state... I guess we're letting everybody in these days. We must have like a hundred states now.

Okay, all kidding aside, Grits is right, I should never have forgotten my comedy disclaimer. These days, it's hard to tell a joke from the honest discourse of the intellectually backwards;)

Now knowing all was a joke I get it and I actually agree with what you and grits have written. But why would he be deported back to Hawaii? Especially since he's not from there.
